Permethrin is a safe and effective insect repellent that’s been EPA-registered since 1979. Permethrin was created by copying a natural insect repellent compound found in Chrysanthemum plants. By emulating the benefits of this compound, they were able to make a synthetic version that’s both longer-lasting and more effective.

How does permethrin work?

The way permethrin works is by over-exciting an insect’s nervous system. When an insect encounters permethrin, it becomes paralyzed, and in this weakened state, the insect generally disengages, falls off, and frequently dies.
